Customer-centric culture at the core of Zenith Aviation’s successful growth
In our featured articles we are excited to speak to established representatives of the Business Aviation industry. This time we sat down with Zenith Aviation’s Managing Director, Stuart Mulholland, and Ground Operations Manager, Richard Lawson, to discuss the company’s ongoing expansion and the role Leon Software plays in Zenith’s daily operations.
Zenith Aviation can be regarded as one of the United Kingdom’s leading executive aircraft management companies, offering services varying from charter flights, aircraft acquisition and maintenance to aircraft management solutions. It is also one of our distinct time-honoured partners, using Leon since the company was founded in 2013.
- Biggin Hill based, Zenith Aviation continues to be a shining example of a successful jet charter company. Could you share with us a few factors that inspired your continuous development?
Stuart Mulholland: Our customers’ needs are at the heart of everything we do. Whether they have their own private jet, or are looking to charter one, we’re here to help and are dedicated to maintaining our renowned first class, personalised service.
For chartered flights, our highly trained crew and team of experienced aviation professionals are available 24 hours a day meaning we can arrange bespoke solutions in a matter of minutes to fit into a client’s lifestyle. It’s this level of control and comfort that sets us apart from other aircraft operators and ensures that we deliver the best service the market has to offer.
If a client has their own jet, we have EASA Part 66 licenced engineers to maintain them to the highest standard. Alternatively, if they are looking to buy and sell an aircraft our experienced team can help with every aspect of the journey.
As the only operator in the UK and the largest in Europe to fly Learjet 75s, we are customers ‘go to’ provider for this aircraft type. We also understand how important people’s pets are to them and as we are DEFRA approved, customers’ dogs, cats (and even ferrets) can travel safely and comfortably with them in the cabin.

- The cooperation between Zenith Aviation and Leon dates back to 2013. How much has the industry changed since then when it comes to the aviation management tools?
Richard Lawson: It used to be a lot more difficult! Everything was done manually and all handling requests were processed individually with no control of Flight Time Limitations (FTLs.). With the introduction of Leon, we now have a one stop shop that does everything in house from quoting, operational and importing and it’s well received by the authorities. Leon gives us control and oversight of our daily operation.
- Leon offers a wide range of features for a modern aviation company. If you would have to choose, which of them grant Zenith Aviation the biggest edge in its day-to-day processes?
RL: FTLs. The control and way that we can share the information with authorities and knowing that we are compliant with current regulations and operation manuals offers peace of mind.
Why Leon?
Flight Time Limitations tracking is one of many crucial features of Leon platform, allowing an efficient crew management according to internal and external regulations. Alongside with an extensive automation and other functionalities supplementing the management process, Business Aviation companies gain a complete solution for each of their Sales, OPS, Crew and Maintenance departments.
